laser hair removal

Service Images

Laser hair removal is a common cosmetic surgery that is performed to permanently remove the unwanted hair from different parts of the body with the help of high intensity light, typically, facial hair.
It is a pain-free surgery that leaves the surrounding skin undamaged. Laser hair removal surgery takes a short period of time to complete and is safe.

Pre-Procedure
  • Since laser hair removal is a medical procedure it is necessary that a doctor is present at the time of the surgery.
  • Waxing and plucking of hair should be limited before the surgery
  • Sun exposure should be avoided before and after surgery as it may cause complications.
Procedure At first, the unwanted hair on the skin will be trimmed to a few millimeters. The laser equipment is adjusted according to the patient’s skin color, hair color, thickness of hair and the part of the body that is going to be treated.
The patient as well as the doctors and nursing staff will be required to wear eye protection to prevent the laser from damaging the eyes. A cooling device or a cold gel is applied to the outer layer of the skin in order to protect the skin from the light of the laser.
The doctor or technician will then use the laser on the unwanted hair to check if the patient shows any discomfort, if not, the procedure will be carried out and the unwanted hair is removed.
After the procedure, the patient will be given ice packs or anti-inflammatory lotion to soothe the skin.
This procedure will be carried out in sessions until the hair stops growing entirely.
Post-Procedure The treated part of the skin might look slightly sunburned for a day or two after surgery. This can be remedied with the help of a moisturizer.
Blisters might form mostly for people with a darker complexion. The patient will have to wear sunscreen for the following month. Side effects such as scarring and swelling are sometimes noted.
